From holding its first performance in 1861, this theatre has sure come a long way. The BAM Howard Gilman Opera House has played host to some of the best artists (Crouch, Susan Marshall and Steve Reich) and acts from around the globe. Dance, opera and theatre - this place promotes it all. After it was completely ravaged by fire, the opera house was shifted to Fort Greene in 1908. This 2,109-seat theatre offers discounts to students as well as seniors. A MUST visit for every person visiting New York.
