Rich, tasty and inexpensive German and Austrian food and beer are available in this interesting spot near the Throg's Neck Bridge, which features a beautiful beer garden. The restaurant opened in 1935, and it remains popular with Bronx locals today. The restaurant and bar are located in an 1850's coach house. Beer, sausages, sauerbraten and Wiener Schnitzel head up the list of favorites here, but many people come for the surprisingly cheap Sunday brunch buffets.
