This old-fashioned movie house in the heart of the New York University area serves the local film community well. Count on an amusing mixture of high and low brow celluloid masterpieces, including independent and foreign films and cult classics. Inside, a vintage subway turnstile leads the way to the theatres, and the popcorn is served with real butter. Several film festivals use Village Cinema for screenings. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7:50 for students, and $5.50 for seniors and children under 13.
