The original Cotton Club, on 142nd Street and Lennox Avenue, was a Harlem institution during the Roaring ‘20s. Politicians, gangsters, movie stars and other celebrities congregated here. They delighted in fine dining and drinks while listening to the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Lena Horne and Ella Fitzgerald. Today the club's new incarnation is part of the latest Harlem Renaissance. In addition to Swing Night on Mondays, jazz and blues nights are popular the rest of the week, and the Gospel Brunch is a treat on Saturday and Sunday.
