Close to Carnegie Hall and the charm of its music, this Italian restaurant features an enticing blend of good food and pleasant service. The dining room needs some sprucing up, but the place has a certain timeless character nonetheless. Appetizers of note include the Grilled Portobello Mushroom and the Grilled Polenta with Gorgonzola. There are excellent chicken, beef, fish and veal dishes as well. Pastas include Capellini with saffron shrimp and zucchini, Linguine with either white or red clam sauce, and Lasagne Verde.
