After four years in the making, the new Jazz at Lincoln Center has finally arrived. The Center, which is located in the Time Warner Center, is kicking off their inaugural season with a three-week Grand Opening Festival (Oct. 21-Nov. 7) brimming with a variety of performances, speakers and special events. Bill Cosby, Langston Hughes, and Cassandra Wilson are a few of the many unforgettable guests that will be featured at the Center. The 100,000 sq. ft. Center features three performing and concert spaces uniquely designed with state of the art accoustic design and technology. The Center also features major rehearsal spaces, a recording studio, and two classrooms to teach young musicians. Under the leadership of Director, Wynton Marsalis, the Center will produce more than 450 events, which include parades, picnics, festivals, big-band battles, and contests, will be held throughout the season. So if you are in the City, stop by the Jazz Center where you can always find something cutting edge and entertaining.
