Following a million dollar facelift in 2001, this busy bistro in a townhouse is once again providing its customers with an alluring ambience and upscale French food. The carefully crafted cuisine created by chef and owner Jean-Georges Vongerichten features such wonderful creations as shrimp dusted with orange zest and served with artichokes, a goat cheese and potato terrine, and chicken roasted with ginger and green olives. The Valrhona chocolate cake and the apple confit make a sweet conclusion. It is rather crowded here and a bit formal, but the service is excellent.
