This busy cafe may tout its vegetarian status but beef and chicken eaters will find plenty to eat at this casual and popular Alphabet City staple. With an unbelievably eclectic menu (ranging from calamari to vegetarian nachos), no stomach will go home empty. If the wait for outside tables is too long, try the garden in the back. Prices are inexpensive for food that is more than decent. A meal ranges from $15 to $20.
