Mamlouk fuses Middle Eastern cuisine and ambiance with East Village attitude. The dining room is lush, funky and airy with mosaics, throw pillows, and best of all hookas (a kind of tobacco water pipe). There is no menu; rather you will be served a multi-course tasting meal, with everything from hummus to tasty kebabs, moussaka and lamb couscous. All of it is excellent, and you will be putting yourself in the chef's very capable hands. The prix fixe dinner costs $30 without beverages.
