Eastern European food in New York City has always been wholesome and hearty, not to mention inexpensive, and this no-frills neighborhood joint certainly fits that description. So if goulash is part of your regular diet, you certainly cannot go wrong here. There is also stuffed cabbage, schnitzel and other high calorie delights (sorry, no low-fat cottage cheese). The Austro-Hungarian staff provides a welcoming air, as well as a sense of authenticity to the place. Cash only.
