Opened in 1985 by the now famous restaurateur Drew Nieporent, this elegant and comfortable French restaurant still draws some local artists and intellectuals who remember when it was their only neighborhood option. There is also a large business clientele that dines here. The food remains top-notch, with luxurious dishes like Slow Cooked Salmon with Asparagus and Morels, and French classics such as Poached Oysters. Montrachet's wine list lures connoisseurs from around the world with an unparalleled selection, particularly its vast collection of Burgundies.
