The New Amsterdam was bought and restored back to its original baroque design by the Disney Corporation in 1997. The lobby and lounges are expertly maintained, however the auditorium with near 1800 seats is not as stunning as the rest of the building. The theater and its productions are of the quality expected of Disney.
