During the 1920s, this well-appointed lounge and cabaret was the famed gathering place of New York's literary trendsetters, known as the Algonquin Roundtable. Dorothy Parker and her friends are now just a memory, but the Oak Room does host excellent musical acts and caters to a mature, sophisticated crowd. On nights when there is a show it can be quite expensive, with cover charges of up to $35 plus food and drink minimums.
