The name Patroon refers to Dutch colonial land grant holders who owned practically all of Manhattan at one time; therefore, it seems fitting that the current clientele are among today's richest and most powerful New Yorkers. This is a very attractive and elegant establishment with a clubby, steakhouse atmosphere. The substantial range of dishes gets raves. Along with a focus on steaks and chops, the restaurant excels at dishes like Maine lobster and seared tuna. A charming terrace draws diners, as does the impressive wine list.
