When Quatorze moved uptown from its namesake 14th Street location in Greenwich Village, many loyal patrons were afraid it would lose its quality; fortunately, this has not happened. The French-Alsatian food, service and ambiance are all above par. French posters, banquettes and a zinc bar highlight the atmosphere of the dining room. Pleasant al fresco dining is possible too. Chicory with bacon and hot vinaigrette, grilled salmon, sea bass and lobster are popular, as is anything with the pommes frites.
