This restaurant is named after Calvert Vaux, a designer of Central Park (and Brooklyn's Prospect Park). The food is expensive for this low-key section of Park Slope, but it is good enough to continue drawing people in. The service and décor are also elevated. They feature such dishes as Cantaloupe and Feta Salad with Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, and Steamed Mussels in White Wine Cream on a Puff Pastry, as well as Grilled Pork Loin with Mango Sauce, and Lemon Risotto with Shrimp. A special cookie plate is available for dessert.
