Vela is a celebrity hotspot - if that isn't a good enough reason to hound this place, the menu definitely is. The original Brazilian and Japanese cuisine presents a perfect mix of the east and the west. Try the exotic sea urchin salad called Praia Salad, which is Japanese; then go for the Seared Tuna with chilled mushrooms, which is Brazilian. The pricing at Vela may not be the icing on your dessert but it's not entirely expensive. Also for the record, Nicole Kidman and Uma Thurman have dined here, though not together!
