Wasabi helps fulfill the Japanese food niche in the bustling, trendy Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. The interior is plain but pleasant, with wooden tables and chairs. The front windows, decorated with lights, look out on busy Bedford Avenue. In good weather, patrons may eat in the pleasant covered garden in back. The house special is tataki, fish that is barely seared on the outside and raw on the inside. Other Japanese dishes include udon and soba noodles, teriyaki, tempura, sushi and sashimi.
