This restaurant was opened by David and Karen Waltuck, owners of the top-rated Chanterelle. Both locations serve French food in the Tribeca neighborhood, but that is where the similarities end-Le Zinc is far more casual, offering such typical bistro fare as cassoulet, Steak Frites and a number of meat terrines. In addition, it attracts a much hipper crowd of locals who cram the sparsely decorated dining room at all hours of the day and night. Reservations are not accepted, and there is often a wait.
